A Date With Judy - Matrimonial Bureau

Judy and her friend Randolph decide to help Barbara's Aunt Carrie, who is single at age 38, find a husband through a matrimonial bureau. They write a letter while using Judy's mother’s photograph instead of Aunt Carrie’s, hoping to attract potential suitors. When they receive a response, they learn that Mr. Inglefinger, a man with an unfortunate history of broken limbs and romantic disappointment, is interested. Miscommunication leads him to believe he is pursuing Judy's mother, causing confusion and concern. Although Aunt Carrie initially expresses contentment with her single status, Mr. Inglefinger eventually visits, leading the two to find common ground over shared experiences, culminating in an unexpected engagement. Judy and Randolph realize their efforts inadvertently succeeded in pairing Aunt Carrie with Mr. Inglefinger, proving the matrimonial bureau effective.
