When Johnny confronts her in her apartment, the cunning Sanagian and his gunman Artiz appear, holding Johnny at gunpoint. The mastermind behind the yacht fraud reveals that only Jan could have provided him with detailed information about Johnny's investigation, including his movements and conversations with witnesses. As Sanagian smugly confesses to sinking the Jolly Roger and murdering its crew to finance his return to Europe and access frozen assets worth millions, he attempts to recruit Johnny to his criminal enterprise. The insurance investigator finds himself trapped with a gun pointed at him, facing both a ruthless killer and the woman he trusted, while desperately stalling for time in hopes that Sergeant Franklin will arrive before Sanagian decides to eliminate him.
