About this episode

Originally Aired: November 22, 1955 Suspense #625, "Classified Secret," stars Parley Baer as Charlie Rader, a man carrying something of vital importance to national security aboard a cross-country bus from California to New York. When a mysterious woman approaches him in a North Hollywood park demanding twenty thousand dollars instead of the agreed-upon ten thousand for what he possesses, Charlie refuses and quickly boards a bus to escape. He strikes up a friendly conversation with his seatmate, Julie Spaulding, a pleasant young woman traveling to her sister's wedding, and the journey seems routine as they share magazines and small talk through the desert night. But Charlie's troubles have only just begun. After dozing off, he awakens to find a seemingly friendly stranger offering him cigarettes and casual conversation. The man's pleasant demeanor quickly turns menacing when he reveals that the woman from the park is on the bus, that they've been tracking Charlie all along, and that he's carrying a concealed automatic. With a smile that barely masks his threat, the stranger makes it clear that if Charlie won't sell what he's carrying, they'll take it by force. Charlie realizes he's trapped on a moving bus with enemies who will stop at nothing, and that he may have to kill them before they kill him if he hopes to reach New York alive.
