About this episode
Judy Foster is at home when she receives a call from her crush, Oogie, who asks her for a date, but they agree to sit on the porch due to his lack of money. Meanwhile, Judy's father, Melvin Foster, excitedly reveals he has bought an old car he believes is a great bargain, despite his family teasing him about its age and condition. When discussing the car, the engine unexpectedly falls out, leading to further ridicule. Meanwhile, Melvin's friend, Ed Emerson, decides to prank him by sending comedian Al Pierce to sell him ridiculous items, including a 1908 Stanley steamer and later a motorcycle. Melvin, unaware of the joke, ends up buying the motorcycle, which turns out to be stolen, leading the police to arrest Al. The mix-up is resolved when Melvin clears everything up with the judge, finding humor in the entire situation, while Al's fate hangs in the balance at the end as he reflects on being caught in the prank.
