The Clinton Matter Ep 1

Originally Aired: March 12, 1956 Johnny Dollar #346, "The Clinton Matter Ep 1," Johnny Dollar arrives in the remote mountain town of Clinton, Colorado to investigate a tip from Julian Osborne, a school janitor who reported building irregularities affecting multiple insurance companies. Before Dollar can make contact, disaster strikes when the new school building collapses and burns to the ground, killing Osborne in the fire. The $200,000 claim suddenly becomes much more serious, and Dollar finds himself investigating not just construction problems but a possible death under suspicious circumstances. Dollar's investigation immediately hits resistance from the locals. Sheriff Paul Doherty seems oddly uninterested in Osborne's concerns about the school, while principal Florrie Hawkins grows evasive after receiving a mysterious phone call from the sheriff during Dollar's visit. With Osborne dead, the school destroyed, and the townspeople closing ranks, Dollar faces an uphill battle to uncover the truth about what might be a racket rather than a simple insurance matter.
