About this episode

Originally Aired: March 8, 1956 Johnny Dollar #344, "The Plantagant Matter Ep 4," Johnny finds himself in deep trouble when he realizes he's been withholding crucial evidence from the police. He calls attorney Samuel W. Oldfield from a police station pay phone, urgently requesting legal representation for potential charges of withholding evidence and possibly being connected to a murder. Johnny explains how he found a .38 Colt revolver in Amy Duran's purse, registered to a deceased bank guard named O'Connell, and the gun is missing three bullets. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Aikens is investigating the murder of an auditor named Belden, shot three times with a .38 caliber weapon. The case grows more complex when Aikens reveals that his prime suspect in the Belden murder is Amy Duran herself, who worked as chief accountant at Richmond Limited and apparently embezzled ten thousand dollars. Despite knowing Amy is already dead in the morgue, Johnny doesn't reveal this information or turn over the gun. Haunted by Amy's dying plea for help, he returns to Therese O'Connell's house to confront her about her sister's death and the mysterious weapon. Become a supporter of this podcast
