  1. Preparing To Leave On Vacation

    May 19, 2026 · 28 min

Originally Aired: June 25, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #254, "Preparing To Leave On Vacation," Fibber is supposed to be helping pack for their summer vacation, but instead he's consumed with composing a musical number to impress Meredith Wilson, who will be hosting the summer replacement show. While Molly lugs heavy trunks to the car by herself, Fibber pounds away at the piano, convinced he's demonstrating true musical progress. When Gildersleeve happens by and sees Molly doing all the work, he's appalled by Fibber's treatment of his "frail little woman," though Molly insists she's perfectly capable. As the couple attempts to finish their preparations, calling utilities and arranging for services to be shut off, they receive visits from their Wistful Vista neighbors. Mrs. Uppington drops by with a peculiar going-away gift of collapsible finger bowls for roughing it in the woods, complete with her trademark condescending wit. Through it all, Fibber remains stubbornly fixated on his symphony while chaos swirls around him and departure time draws near.

  2. Fibber Models A Dress For Molly

    May 18, 2026 · 30 min

Originally Aired: June 18, 1940 In Fibber McGee & Molly #253, "Fibber Models A Dress For Molly," vacation preparations take an unexpected turn when Molly needs help with a complicated dress pattern. After learning from her friend Mert that skirts are going to be two inches longer this season, Molly discovers her dressmaker is unavailable. Desperate to complete the garment before their trip, she convinces a reluctant Fibber to model the dress so she can check her progress. Despite his protests about his dignity and pride, Fibber eventually agrees to slip into the dress, though he insists on locking doors and pulling shades first. Fibber's worst fears come true when visitors start dropping by, including bandleader Billy Mills and the irrepressible neighborhood girl Teeny. As Fibber repeatedly struggles in and out of Molly's dress, each interruption brings new embarrassment and comic complications. The situation grows increasingly absurd as Fibber tries to maintain his masculine dignity while wearing women's clothing, all while Molly remains focused on saving three dollars on dressmaker fees and perfecting her vacation wardrobe.

  3. Wall Paper

    May 17, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: June 11, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #252, "Wall Paper," While window shopping down 14th Street in Wistful Vista on a lovely June day, Fibber and Molly stumble upon an auction at Needham's Wallpaper store, presided over by the fast-talking auctioneer Horatio K. Boomer. What starts as innocent bystander commentary quickly turns into disaster when the cunning Boomer manipulates their casual remarks into bids. Despite Fibber's protests and attempts to clarify they aren't bidding, Boomer skillfully twists every word they say into higher and higher offers, with the crowd as witnesses to the supposed transaction. Before they know what's hit them, Fibber finds himself the reluctant owner of thirty rolls of flowered wallpaper for thirty-six dollars, thanks to Boomer's carnival tricks. With no way out of the purchase, Fibber decides to make the best of the situation by attempting to paper the living room himself, much to Molly's horror and skepticism about his handyman abilities.

  4. Spaghetti Dinner

    May 16, 2026 · 30 min

Originally Aired: June 4, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #251, "Spaghetti Dinner," In this episode, Fibber McGee decides to host an all-male spaghetti dinner at his home, confidently declaring himself a master chef despite ample evidence to the contrary. At the corner delicatessen run by Mrs. Goldfarb, Fibber assembles an eccentric shopping list that includes everything from garlic and tomatoes to chocolate bars and ginger snaps—but nearly forgets the spaghetti itself. The Old Timer stops by and initially accepts the dinner invitation, but quickly changes his mind when he learns Fibber is doing the cooking himself, opting instead to take Molly to the movies. Back at home, Fibber's kitchen preparations become increasingly chaotic as he fills a wash boiler with ingredients and uses golf balls as models for his meatballs. Molly watches with growing concern as her husband confidently dismisses her cooking advice, drops a cuff button into the meat sauce, and insists on using an egg beater for his recipe. When Mrs. Uppington stops by and discovers the stag party preparations underway, the stage is set for what promises to be a memorably disastrous dinner party.

  5. Circus Comes To Town

    May 15, 2026 · 30 min

Originally Aired: May 28, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #250, "Circus Comes To Town," finds Wistful Vista buzzing with excitement as the circus arrives in town. Fibber is eager to get to the big top, proudly clutching two free tickets he earned by allowing circus posters to be plastered all over his front door - much to Molly's chagrin. As they prepare to leave, Fibber reminisces about his alleged past as a "bull boss" with the Wagenback and Hollis circus outfit, though Molly seems skeptical of his tall tales. Their neighbor Gildersleeve stops by, sharing his own enthusiasm for the circus performers, particularly the trapeze artists and acrobats, even claiming he still has a spangle from a lady acrobat's dress. At the circus grounds, the McGees encounter various colorful characters, including a vendor selling "punk lemonade" and a precocious little girl who's dutifully accompanying her father despite preferring to stay home with a good book. The child's world-weary attitude about the circus contrasts hilariously with the adults' childlike excitement, as she watches her father indulge in cotton candy and hamburgers while she plays the responsible parent.

  6. Checker Game Deadlock

    May 14, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: May 21, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #249, "Checker Game Deadlock," In this episode, Fibber McGee and his neighbor Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve find themselves in an epic stalemate, locked in a checker game that has now stretched into its seventh day. The two stubborn rivals refuse to concede, camping out in the McGee living room surrounded by cigar stubs, coffee cups, and a week's worth of whiskers. Molly desperately tries to restore order to the chaos, pleading with Fibber to end the ridiculous standoff, but both men's pride keeps them glued to the checkerboard. When Mr. Plummer calls offering Fibber a day's work running his hardware and plumbing business for ten dollars, Molly seizes the opportunity to break the deadlock. Despite Molly's misgivings about Fibber's qualifications, she accepts the job on his behalf, forcing him to abandon the game. Just as they're about to inform Gildersleeve of their departure, they discover he's fallen asleep from exhaustion. Fibber heads off to Plummer's store, bragging about his days as "Killer Driller McGee" in Peoria, while Molly tags along to supervise, clearly worried about what havoc her overconfident husband might wreak on the unsuspecting hardware business.

  7. Fibber Turns Hose on Gildy

    May 13, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: May 14, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #248, "Fibber Turns Hose on Gildy," In this episode, Fibber is peacefully watering the lawn at 79 Wistful Vista when mischief inevitably strikes. After exchanging pleasantries with neighbors like Nick and the ever-inquisitive little girl who questions his scientific explanation of why grass stays green, Fibber spots his favorite target: Gildersleeve. What starts as playful banter quickly escalates when Fibber turns the hose on Gildy, thoroughly soaking the exhausted neighbor who's just had a hard day at the office. An enraged Gildersleeve retaliates by pulling out a knife and cutting the hose to pieces, only to discover he's destroyed his own hose that Fibber had borrowed earlier that afternoon. The situation grows more serious when Mr. Wilcox arrives and warns Molly and Fibber that an angry Gildersleeve is threatening revenge. Molly worries about her husband facing the former intercollegiate boxing champion, while Fibber remains characteristically overconfident despite Wilcox's offer to have an ambulance standing by just six minutes away.

  8. May Festival Play

    May 12, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: May 7, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #247, "May Festival Play," Fibber McGee has written, directed, and produced a medieval play for the Women's Club titled "When Knighthood Was the Stuff." As Sir Lancelot in a full suit of armor, Fibber performs opposite Molly as the fair Elaine, delivering stilted medieval dialogue filled with McGee's trademark mangled phrases. The plot reaches its climax when Fibber must battle the Black Knight, played by Gildersleeve, for Elaine's hand in marriage. Things get out of hand when Fibber enthusiastically wallops Gildersleeve with his sword during the fight scene, leaving a sizable dent in his helmet and knocking him cold. After the performance, Mrs. Uppington reveals the play has increased the Women's Club deficit to a whopping 950 dollars, and an angry Gildersleeve demands satisfaction for being clobbered onstage. Fibber agrees to fight him man-to-man, but there's one problem: he can't figure out how to remove his armor. As Gildersleeve waits impatiently and various unhooking methods fail, Fibber realizes he may need to find a blacksmith while Molly holds a sword over his head as a makeshift lightning rod.

  9. Fibber Becomes A Theatrical Director

    May 11, 2026 · 28 min

Originally Aired: April 30, 1940 In Fibber McGee & Molly #246, "Fibber Becomes A Theatrical Director," Fibber receives an exciting telegram from the Chippewa Entertainment Bureau, accepting his application for a position as a stage director. The telegram congratulates him on his supposed associations with legendary figures like Belasco, DeMille, Reinhardt, Toscanini, and Minsky, and promises an immediate job assignment. There's just one catch: Fibber must wire fifty dollars to cover bookkeeping, postage, and other expenses. Overjoyed and convinced he's finally hit the big time, Fibber rushes to send the money before Molly can learn the details of his latest scheme. Meanwhile, the snobbish Mrs. Uppington stops by to tell Molly about the Women's Club May Festival, where she has appointed herself Queen of the Maids. She mentions that the club has hired a professional director from the very same Chippewa Entertainment Bureau, also requiring a fifty-dollar advance. As Fibber prepares to wire his money with help from the Old Timer, the stage is set for one of his classic misadventures in show business.

  10. How To Hang A Picture

    May 10, 2026 · 28 min

Originally Aired: April 23, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #245, "How To Hang A Picture," In this episode, Fibber and Molly find themselves locked in a spirited domestic dispute over the proper way to hang a picture. Fibber insists the bottom should be at eye level, citing the expertise of a fictional Professor Roger J. Hemingway, while Molly counters with the authority of an equally fictional Dr. William Folteney Banderplug. Unable to resolve their argument, the couple decides to seek professional advice at the local art museum, hoping an expert can settle the matter once and for all. Their quest for answers proves more complicated than expected. Along the way, they encounter the Old Timer, who offers his usual cryptic wisdom, and an overly intellectual artist at the museum whose elaborate explanation about psychic balance and aesthetic relationships only leaves them more confused. Mrs. Uppington makes an appearance at the museum, dripping with cultured superiority, as Fibber and Molly navigate the world of high art in search of a simple answer to their household dilemma.

  11. Ink Stains On The Carpet

    May 9, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: April 16, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #244, "Ink Stains On The Carpet," Fibber accidentally shakes his fountain pen and splatters ink all over the living room carpet, creating an enormous mess. What starts as one spot quickly multiplies as McGee continues to shake the pen, making matters worse with each attempt. Determined to fix the problem himself, Fibber tries various harebrained remedies including the salt and milk method, which only succeeds in creating a soggy, discolored disaster on the floor. As Molly frantically brings more supplies and the Old Timer stops by to deliver his usual commentary, McGee's increasingly desperate solutions grow more absurd. When he finally hits upon the idea of cutting the stained section out of the carpet to take to a chemist for analysis, Molly realizes her husband's remedy might be worse than the original problem. The episode also celebrates the show's five-year anniversary on the air for Johnson's Wax, with the McGees reminiscing about their rocky start in radio.

  12. Homecoming

    May 8, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: April 9, 1940 In Fibber McGee & Molly #243, "Homecoming," the McGees are returning to Wistful Vista aboard a bus after their triumphant appearance on the Lux Radio Theater in Hollywood. As they approach town, still hungry and arguing over their last ham sandwich, they spot a brass band, streamers, and banners gathered at the railroad station. Fibber quickly concludes that the whole town has turned out to welcome them home as conquering celebrities. There's just one problem: the crowd is clearly waiting for someone arriving on the streamlined train, and the McGees came home on the bus. Never one to let reality get in the way of glory, Fibber concocts a plan to sneak home, freshen up, prepare some modest speeches, and return to the station in time to disembark from the train they never boarded. Along the way, they encounter the delightfully befuddling little girl who engages Fibber in her trademark circular logic about Hollywood, washing, and whether such a place even exists. As the McGees rush to pull off their scheme, the question remains whether the homecoming celebration is really meant for them at all.

  13. Property Line Dispute

    May 7, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: March 26, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #241, "Property Line Dispute," Fibber is hard at work digging a trench in his backyard to plant a new hedge when neighbor Gildersleeve arrives with an accusation that stops him in his tracks. Gildersleeve insists that Fibber is digging three feet onto Gildersleeve's property, claiming the lot line runs from the telephone pole in the alley to the slippery elm out front. Fibber indignantly denies the charge, and the two nearly come to blows before Molly sensibly suggests they hire a surveyor to settle the matter. Both men agree, though Fibber insists on finding the surveyor himself since he doesn't trust Gildersleeve. While waiting for the surveyor to arrive, the McGees receive a visit from a little girl taking a shortcut through their house on her way to buy meat for her prize-winning dog Margaret, who apparently ate too much of his ten-pound prize at the dog show and is now under the weather.

  14. Dog License

    May 6, 2026 · 30 min

Originally Aired: March 19, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #240, "Dog License," Fibber receives an alarming registered letter from the City License Bureau demanding he obtain a 1940 dog license within two days or face a hefty fine and possible jail time. There's just one problem: the McGees haven't owned a dog in seven years! Furious at what he perceives as bureaucratic incompetence, Fibber declares war on the "pickle push politicians" at City Hall and vows they won't make a monkey out of him. He attempts to call the City Hall to complain, but operator Mert informs him the lines are jammed because everyone's speculating about whether "Izzy" will run for a third term. Determined to straighten out this mess in person, Fibber and Molly prepare to march down to the License Bureau. Along the way, they encounter a chatty little girl with her Easter bunny named Esther, which leads to a confusing Abbott and Costello-style exchange about whether the rabbit is male or female. As the McGees head off to confront the city bureaucrats, Fibber insists he'll do all the talking and show those "city hall dumbbells" they can't push him around.

  15. Make A Pal Of Your Wife Week

    May 5, 2026 · 28 min

Originally Aired: March 12, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #239, "Make A Pal Of Your Wife Week," Fibber McGee decides to celebrate "Make a Pal of Your Wife Week" by taking Molly out to lunch, calculating that it's cheaper than flowers or candy. Molly is delightfully surprised by the sudden invitation after fifteen years of marriage, though she needs time to get ready while Fibber receives a visit from Teeny, the neighborhood boy trying to sell soap. When the couple prepares to leave, they encounter the uppity Mrs. Uppington on her daily walk, who mentions she's lunching with Billy Mills at a quiet, exclusive restaurant with fine French cuisine. This prompts Fibber to launch into one of his trademark tongue-twisting boasts about his expertise with food, claiming he was known as "Kitchenette McGee" in his youth. He delivers an elaborate alliterative monologue about his knowledge of cooking and cuisine, demonstrating the kind of comic exaggeration that constantly gets him into trouble. The episode showcases the warmth between Fibber and Molly while highlighting the class differences with their neighbor Mrs. Uppington.

  16. Cleaning Hall Closet

    May 4, 2026 · 58 min

Originally Aired: March 5, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #238, "Cleaning Hall Closet," In this classic episode, Molly insists on cleaning out the infamous hall closet at 79 Wistful Vista after its contents come crashing down on her when Fibber opens the door. What starts as a search for a dictionary turns into a full-scale archeological dig through Fibber's treasure trove of supposed necessities, including rusty horseshoes, trout flies, and a three-legged tabouret from manual training class. Fibber stubbornly defends every item, insisting he's arranged everything just the way he wants it and that nothing can be thrown away. As the McGees sort through the avalanche of belongings, they're interrupted by various Wistful Vista neighbors, including a precocious little girl with confusing stories about her baby brother and Mr. Oldtimer looking for a room to rent. Through the chaos of accumulated odds and ends, Molly discovers an old dance program from their courting days, leading to sweet reminiscences about waltzes, turkey trots, and a romantic evening that ended with chocolate-covered cherries and ruined white pants.

  17. Molly’s Chinchilla Coat

    May 3, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: February 27, 1940 In Fibber McGee & Molly #237, "Molly's Chinchilla Coat," Molly is eager to show off her new Siberian chinchilla fur coat around the neighborhood, despite Fibber's protests that it's too warm for such extravagant outerwear. When Fibber needs a button sewn on his shirt, Molly realizes she's out of white thread and must run to the ten cent store, giving her the perfect excuse to parade around town in her luxurious new purchase. As the McGees head out, Molly gets her wish when they encounter the snobbish Mrs. Uppington, leading to a deliciously catty exchange where compliments barely mask mutual disdain and barbed insults fly beneath a veneer of politeness. The couple then runs into their neighbor Mr. Gildersleeve, who notices that Fibber appears to be catching cold in his insufficient turtleneck sweater. This sparks the typical contentious banter between Fibber and Gildersleeve, with Fibber defensively insisting he's a lifelong snappy dresser and launching into one of his trademark tongue-twisting alliterative monologues about his sartorial prowess, leaving everyone breathless.

  18. Fibber Must Tell The Truth

    May 2, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: February 20, 1940 In Fibber McGee & Molly #236, "Fibber Must Tell The Truth," Fibber is rehearsing a speech about George Washington and his ideals that he plans to deliver to a fourth-grade class. When Molly questions whether her famously truth-challenged husband could be honest for even an hour, Fibber defensively takes the bait. They make a bold wager: a box of cigars against the fur coat Molly has been wanting that Fibber cannot tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth for sixty solid minutes. What begins as a simple bet quickly becomes torture for the chronically embellishing McGee. Old Timer stops by selling ski lesson tickets, and Fibber must admit he's a terrible skier—too fat, too clumsy, hopeless. When a radio pollster calls, Fibber grudgingly confesses his own show is the best on the air. The real test arrives when the socially pretentious Mrs. Uppington drops by seeking an opinion on her new Parisian hat, and Fibber finds himself trapped between his bet and basic politeness as the clock ticks toward the hour's end.

  19. The Lucky Ring

    May 1, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: February 13, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #235, "The Lucky Ring," Fibber is eagerly watching the mailbox, waiting for a mysterious package that he promises will bring big things. When it finally arrives, he reveals his purchase: a genuine Egyptian good luck ring for only 39 cents. The ring supposedly grants prosperity through the mystical spirit of Amu Hote, activated by rubbing it three times while saying "Zwiggle, zwoggle, zwoggle." Molly is skeptical of the whole affair, dismissing it as kid stuff. Fibber's confidence in his magical purchase is immediately tested when neighbor Harlow Wilcox stops by with bad news about the car needing expensive repairs, and their sponsor calls with concerns. Just when the ring's powers seem doubtful, a special delivery letter arrives from lawyers Corpus and Habeas announcing that Fibber has inherited 10,000 acres from his late Uncle Spud McGee of Pocatella, Idaho. Fibber is thrilled and credits the ring for his sudden good fortune, while Molly suspects it might be a joke. As they head to the lawyer's office to claim the inheritance, Fibber's string of bad luck continues with various mishaps along the way, leaving the ring's true power very much in question.

  20. Why Is Everyone So Nice

    Apr 30, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: February 6, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #234, "Why Is Everyone So Nice," Fibber McGee wakes up on the wrong side of the bed—literally falling out the window—and is in a foul mood. But something strange is happening at 79 Wistful Vista: everyone seems unusually agreeable and accommodating. Molly doesn't object when Fibber announces he won't shave, she lets him come to breakfast in his bathrobe, and she even makes wheat cakes and sausages instead of the usual cereal. Even more bizarre, their cantankerous neighbor Gildersleeve stops by with a gift of ducks and shrugs off Fibber's insults with cheerful indifference. When Johnny the peddler arrives selling valentines, he too seems remarkably pleasant and tolerant of Fibber's stories. As the morning progresses, Fibber grows increasingly suspicious about why everyone is being so nice to him. His attempts to provoke his usual arguments and complaints are met with nothing but sweetness and agreement, leaving him thoroughly confused and wondering what could possibly explain this unprecedented outbreak of kindness directed his way.

  21. Getting Rid Of Old Suit

    Apr 29, 2026 · 58 min

Originally Aired: January 30, 1940 In Fibber McGee & Molly #233, "Getting Rid Of Old Suit," Molly tries desperately to convince Fibber to part with his ratty old blue serge suit, but McGee is stubbornly sentimental about the garment. He reminisces about winning it on a punchboard and wearing it the night they won a Charleston contest. Though the suit is moth-eaten and falling apart, Fibber refuses to simply throw it away, insisting he can sell it to a second-hand clothing dealer instead. The McGees receive a visit from the society-minded Mrs. Uppington, who arrives with Billy Mills, now calling himself Maestro William Randolph Mills, to promote their new concert orchestra venture. After they leave, an elderly junk dealer arrives to appraise the suit but hilariously refuses to buy it, claiming the only suits he sells for 50 cents are ones he picks from ash cans. Molly finally takes matters into her own hands and tosses the suit into the alley herself, but just as Fibber settles in with the funny papers, little Teeny arrives at the door with surprising news about what she's found.

  22. Radio Quiz Show

    Apr 28, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: January 23, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #232, "Radio Quiz Show," Fibber and Molly take a tour of the Wistful Vista Broadcasting Company's studios, where their guide demonstrates sound effects equipment and shows them various studio spaces. After their feet grow weary from the extensive tour, they rest on a bench and encounter their neighbor Mr. Gildersleeve, who is in a panic. The girdle manufacturer has purchased a half-hour of radio advertising time that goes on the air in just 20 minutes, but his wife has been barred from singing by the union and he has no show prepared. Fibber immediately sees an opportunity and offers to save the day, launching into an elaborate alliterative speech about his supposed expertise in radio broadcasting dating back to his childhood. He claims to have been known as "For the Love of Mike McGee, the mastermind" and boasts of his abilities as a performer and producer. As Fibber prepares to solve Gildersleeve's radio crisis with his "great idea for a radio program," the stage is set for the chaos that typically follows McGee's overconfident schemes.

  23. Fibber’s Car is Stolen

    Apr 27, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: January 16, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #231, "Fibber's Car is Stolen," In this episode, Fibber and Molly head to the Auto License Bureau to get new license plates for their 1916 model car. After cleverly cutting to the front of the long line by pretending he left his hat inside, Fibber encounters the sophisticated Mrs. Uppington, who insists her chauffeur put on clean license plates every time he washes the car. Once Fibber receives his comically long new license number, he rushes outside only to discover their car has vanished from where they parked it. Convinced it's been stolen, Fibber frantically calls the police from Gus's cigar store to report the theft. However, Molly solves the mystery with a simple observation. The car hadn't been stolen at all—while they were inside the bureau, the line of people waiting for licenses had grown so long that their vehicle now sits much further down the street than where they originally parked it. The panic over the "stolen" car turns out to be nothing more than another case of Fibber's hasty conclusions.

  24. Gone With The Wind

    Apr 26, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: January 9, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #230, "Gone With The Wind," Fibber and Molly prepare to attend the formal opening of Gone With The Wind at the Bijou Theater after mysteriously receiving tickets slipped under their door. When Fibber's old tuxedo coat splits up the back just as they're about to leave, he faces a dilemma. In a panic and short on time, he spots an evening coat hanging on neighbor Gildersleeve's clothesline and sneaks into the yard to borrow it. His covert mission nearly goes awry when Gildersleeve catches him in the act, forcing Fibber to improvise a ridiculous story about searching for their missing cat named "Malta." Now dressed in his borrowed finery, Fibber boasts to Molly about his supposed past as a powerful theater critic for the Chicago Blaze, launching into one of his trademark tongue-twisting monologues. As the couple heads to the theater, the question remains: who sent them the mysterious tickets, and will Fibber's borrowed coat caper come back to haunt him at the big event?

  25. Fibber Builds A Dog House

    Apr 25, 2026 · 29 min

Originally Aired: January 2, 1940 Fibber McGee & Molly #229, "Fibber Builds A Dog House," Fibber McGee is itching to use the carpenter's tools Molly gave him for Christmas, but his enthusiasm proves dangerous for the household furniture. After hammering dents into a chair while trying to tighten a loose arm, and nearly sawing the legs off the dining room table, Molly desperately suggests he channel his constructive energy into building a doghouse instead. Fibber reluctantly agrees and begins planning an elaborate canine mansion complete with multiple rooms, even settling on a name for his future pet: Glowcoat, so the dog won't need to keep scratching and buffing himself. As Fibber orders lumber and stakes out a spot by the garage for his ambitious project, he's interrupted by the neighborhood little girl selling poetry. Her hilariously mangled New Year's resolution poem provides comic relief before Fibber can get back to work. The episode follows Fibber's typical pattern of taking a simple task and turning it into an overly complicated project, much to Molly's patient exasperation.
