A Date With Judy - The New Dress

Judy Foster, a teenager, is anxiously awaiting a phone call from her crush, Oogie, about the school's upcoming dance. Despite her nervousness, her parents and brother try to reassure her. When Oogie eventually calls to invite her, Judy is overjoyed but then becomes upset because she feels she has nothing suitable to wear. Despite having three dresses, she believes she needs a new one to attend the dance, leading to an escalating conversation with her father about her entitlement. Oogie, determined to take Judy to the dance, even proposes a plan to pay for the new dress himself, but Mr. Foster remains firm in his stance against giving in to Judy's demands. Eventually, her father, after some reflection, buys her the dress, but Judy decides against wearing it, realizing her selfishness and opting instead for a dress she's worn before. Ultimately, she goes to the dance with Oogie in her old dress, embracing her decision and celebrating the evening without the pressure of new attire.
