About this episode

Originally Aired: June 17, 1941 Fibber McGee & Molly #292, "Amusement Park," Fibber and Molly take the little girl from across the street for an afternoon of fun at the Wistful Vista Amusement Park, but the energetic youngster proves to be quite a handful. After twelve rides on the roller coaster and an endless appetite for popcorn, hamburgers, and other treats, Fibber finds himself constantly reaching for his wallet. When the trio attempts to have their picture taken in an automatic photo booth, things go awry when the machine malfunctions. McGee's attempt to get his dime back results in an unexpected discovery about how the "automatic" machine really works. The day continues with typical McGee mishaps, including a suspicious stranger trying to make Fibber a business proposition that sounds too good to be true. Through it all, their young companion keeps requesting more snacks and rides, testing Fibber's patience and wallet. Despite the chaos and exhaustion, the McGees gamely try to show the little girl a good time at the amusement park, with McGee attempting to play the role of generous benefactor even as his bankroll steadily dwindles.
