Blizzard

Originally Aired: January 27, 1942 Fibber McGee & Molly #311, "Blizzard," the worst snowstorm in seventy-six years has buried Wistful Vista, with drifts piled up to the second-floor windows. While Fibber and Molly settle in comfortably by the fire, a mysterious stranger named George Spelvin arrives at their door seeking refuge from the brutal cold. Spelvin reveals he carries an urgent message from the governor himself and asks whether Fibber owns a car. Despite Molly's teasing about the vehicle's questionable condition, Fibber insists his automobile is in tip-top shape and ready for duty. As Spelvin attempts to deliver his important message, the cozy evening is repeatedly interrupted by visitors braving the storm. The Old Timer stops by looking to borrow a hot poker for an unusual rescue mission involving his girlfriend Francis, who has apparently gotten buried in a snowdrift. Between interruptions, cups of coffee, and Molly's struggles with her knitting project for soldiers, the true nature of the governor's urgent request remains tantalizingly unclear, leaving Fibber eager to discover what mission awaits him in the blizzard.
