Valentine Candy

Originally Aired: February 10, 1942 Fibber McGee & Molly #313, "Valentine Candy," Molly receives a mysterious delivery of four pounds of her favorite Valentine candy, and naturally assumes the thoughtful gift came from her husband. There's just one problem: Fibber doesn't remember sending it. Rather than admit the truth and disappoint his wife, McGee plays along, accepting credit for the romantic gesture while privately puzzling over who actually sent the candy. His confusion grows as Molly gushes over his thoughtfulness and keeps diving into the delicious box. As Fibber tries to sort out the mystery, he navigates visits from the Old Timer, who's working as caretaker at the recreation center and trying to sell additional valentines, and Mayor LaTrivia, who arrives to scold McGee about a parking ticket. The situation becomes increasingly awkward as Fibber attempts to maintain the charade while desperately trying to figure out the candy's true origin before his secret is revealed.
