About this episode
Originally Aired: September 29, 1942 In Fibber McGee & Molly #332, "Fibber Forgets Camera On Train," the McGees return home to 79 Wistful Vista after a thirteen-week fishing vacation at Lake Hatsapuchi, only to discover a problem with their photographic souvenirs. As Molly begins unpacking their dusty house, Fibber eagerly prepares to take his film to the drugstore for developing, boasting about the quality of his snapshots. However, Molly quickly reminds him that she actually took all the pictures. Their banter is interrupted by a more serious realization: Fibber left his prized camera on the train, the one he won by selling twenty-seven subscriptions to a magazine. Determined to retrieve the camera rather than buy a new one during wartime rationing, the McGees head to the railroad station to visit the Lost and Found Department. Along the way, they encounter familiar faces including the Old Timer, who regales them with jokes about his new defense plant job testing parachutes, and the overly talkative information desk clerk who takes forever to answer simple questions. They also run into their neighbor Abigail Uppington, who reveals she's been walking around with a book on her head to improve her posture.
