Uncle Dennis Has Disappeared Part 1

Originally Aired: May 26, 1942 In Fibber McGee & Molly #327, "Uncle Dennis Has Disappeared Part 1," panic sets in at 79 Wistful Vista when Molly's Uncle Dennis goes missing for two days. While Molly genuinely worries about her father's brother, Fibber's concern suddenly intensifies when he discovers Uncle Dennis was last seen wearing his brand new gray suit. The McGees decide to spring into action, calling Joe's Tavern where Uncle Dennis is a regular patron, though they get no answer. Mayor LaTrivia arrives just in time to help, and the McGees enlist his aid in launching an official search. Fibber provides a less-than-flattering description of Uncle Dennis, noting his fondness for drink and the fact that he's been living with them as a permanent houseguest. LaTrivia immediately calls the police department to broadcast the description over police radio, adding the peculiar detail that Uncle Dennis was last seen wearing a silk lampshade on his head. As the search begins, the mystery deepens when Joe's Tavern reports that Uncle Dennis acted very strangely during his last visit.
