About this episode
Originally Aired: June 2, 1942 In Fibber McGee & Molly #328, "Uncle Dennis Has Disappeared Part 2," the McGees continue their frantic search for Fibber's missing uncle, who vanished nine days earlier wearing Fibber's wristwatch. The investigation takes a peculiar turn when Officer Smaltz arrives with news from a Turkish bath owner. It seems Uncle Dennis went in for an alcohol rub on the night he disappeared, but while he was being treated, a small dog named Peepy ran off with all his clothes. Left with nothing but his shorts, socks, and a walking stick, the hapless uncle departed the establishment, leaving behind Fibber's gold wristwatch as payment. Fibber fumes about his missing timepiece while Molly searches Uncle Dennis's room for clues. The search is interrupted by neighbor Sis, who enthusiastically announces her plans to become a nurse in response to the government's call for fifty-four thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine women to enter nursing schools for national defense. Despite Fibber's skepticism about her qualifications, Sis insists she's been practicing on her dolls and could even drive an ambulance, leading to a humorous debate about women drivers.
